Mariani binti Ramli

Jakun

Kampung Orang Rps Bukit Serok, Pahang

Mariani is an entrepreneur who runs her own tailoring shop and sells crafts both online and offline. Formerly a village secretary, she has independently advocated for her kampung on issues like land rights and flooding. With lived experience and resilience, she is committed to strengthening her community’s economic opportunities while aspiring to help more Orang Asli succeed, be courageous in shaping their futures, and stand on equal footing with others.

the Allyship Pledge

We recognise that a sustainable, thriving future is inherently relational and reciprocal. As signatories, we accept our shared agency and responsibility in shaping such futures.

We will, therefore, take action and begin from where we are. In Malaysia, this starts with principled, intentional, and meaningful allyship with the Orang Asli.

We therefore commit to stand with the Orang Asli as allies: to listen with humility, show up in solidarity, and walk alongside them in their pursuit of justice, equity, and self-determination – whether as those who call Malaysia home, or as guests upon this land.
