Fellowship

Empowering Changemakers, Strengthening Communities

For too long, leadership in Malaysia has sidelined Indigenous voices. We stand with Orang Asli changemakers, equipping them through immersive learning, mentorship and ally networks to grow community-rooted solutions, dismantle barriers, and redefine leadership for a future where everyone thrives.

ABOUT THE

Growing a living network of indigenous leadership rooted in care, grounded in solidarity, and shaped by collective wisdom. The Native Fellowship supports Orang Asli changemakers through immersive learning, mentorship, and engagement with allies across sectors to build rooted community solutions and reshape indigenous leadership narratives in Malaysia.

Our fellowship builds on our ongoing journey with Orang Asli communities – expanding livelihood opportunities, safeguarding culture and championing leadership grounded in lived experience. We seek leaders with deep knowledge and a passion to co-create solutions with and for their communities.

Rooted in values-led leadership, Fellows will develop the courage, capacity and connections needed to spark meaningful change within a dynamic, ever-growing support network. Together, we’re shaping thriving, self-determined futures for Orang Asli communities and we invite you to be part of it.

We value candidates from diverse backgrounds, ages and expertise, ensuring each cohort reflects the breadth of voices and perspectives across Orang Asli communities

the Allyship Pledge

I love Malaysia, and I know she cannot be whole until all who call this land home can thrive freely and fully— including the Orang Asli.

I recognise the Orang Asli as the first peoples of this land. I pledge to stand with them as allies: to listen, to show up, and to fight alongside them for justice, equity, and self-determination.
